PSY

What? You don't believe that this is a real quote? Well, you got me. Just as Albert Einstein once said:

I think Albert Einstein would be proud if he saw how popular he actually is. Besides of his great contribution to science.

Whew, only 75 words and I'm already missing the topic completely...

So, I wanted to talk about. PSY? 

PSY? WHY PSY? WIPE'S EYE? (read out loud to understand the ultimate lamest joke ever)

Because he's a mato fato gentleman. And because he has the gangnam style. Right now, he's probably the only reason that the average American citizen remembers that Corea consists of two countries, and one of them is not willing war. Or if it is, sending PSY to us at least is a great diversionary manoeuvre.

But probably the bigger question is: why do I want to write a post about him?

Well, it's not very typical for this Crazy German here to like the current fashionable music. Usually, I tend to dislike what's popular, probably because I don't want to resemble the ones who are mad about the new pop stars... Just have a look at them and you'll know why. With "them" I mean both the fans and the pop stars. Leaving aside the music... Which, most times, shouldn't be called "music".

But this guy, I don't know, he's such a badass. I remember the first time I listened to Gangnam Style, which was the hit he started to rule the world with. I remember my first reaction seeing the video. That was the real definition of "What the fuck?".

But it was cool! After two or three times listening I even liked the song. The rhythm, the strange guy, the videoclip, the language, the dance and the (more or less) English chorus to sing along... It was simply perfect. And I'm not the only one who thinks that.

Until this very moment, the Youtube video of Gangnam Style has had 1.631.154.278 hits. Let's pronounce that number. One billion, six hundred thirty-one million, one hundred fifty-four thousand, two hundred seventy-eight DAMN hits. The video with most hits on Youtube, logically.

And probably, by the time you read that post, the number will have increased at least 10.000. (Your own fault if you're reading this post right after its publication >:| ).

Like one month and a half ago, his new song released, Gentleman. At first the most reasonable thought: "Bah, this is just the same song changing a bit the chorus and with another clip"

And yeah, this is probably what it is. But I like it. Even though, it continues having this unique PSY touch. And I don't get tired of it. 

So, all in all, I'm curious how long PSY will stay in the media and how many songs he will release from now on with that success. I wish him the best!

I'm sure you didn't know about his song Right Now. It's hasn't become as popular as the other songs, probably because it's different from the typical PSY hits, but this is the perfect reason why it's worth listening to it! A secret hint ;)
